Part-time Adjunct Graphic Design Instructor
The Roski School of Fine Art at the University of Southern California is seeking to establish a pool of qualified instructors for part-time, non-tenure track teaching positions. Part-time lecturers in the pool may be hired as needed for the 2008 - 09 semesters.

Position requires teaching and must attend a mandatory faculty meeting and orientation during the semester.
Job Requirements
Qualified candidates must have an M.F.A. in graphic design, art or related field; or undergraduate degree with extensive, recognized industry experience. College level teaching experience is required. A strong portfolio and/or industry experience is essential. Ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate outstanding teaching and demonstrate evidence of professional involvement in the field of design. Experience in diverse issues in graphic design such as concept development, typography, design technology and critical studies are essential, as these and many other concepts exist throughout the core of this program of study. Expertise in a technical environment is necessary for Digital Tools for Design FA 203 and Typography - software knowledge must include the Adobe Creative Suite product line - Illustrator, InDesign and PhotoShop. Design courses will focus on the student's awareness of concept, typography, production, teamwork for group production and presentation.

Part-time or Temporary Full-Time Instructor / All discipline - deadline: Rolling
Position Description: The Roski School of Fine Arts is accepting applications on an ongoing basis for its pool of artists and critics who are interested in part-time teaching or temporary full-time positions. Part time and temporary full-time instructors may be hired to teach in the following areas as needed:
- Ceramics: Beginning and Advanced
- Color Theory and Composition
- Design: Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced
- Drawing: Beginning, Intermediate, Life Drawing
- Intermedia: Digital Photography, Digital Video, New Media Theory
- New Genres
- Painting: Beginning and Intermediate
- Photography: Beginning and Intermediate (including color)
- Printmaking
- Public Art Studies
- Art Theory and Criticism
- Sculpture: Beginning and Intermediate
Part-time and temporary full-time instructors are contracted for one semester or for one year, with the possibility of renewal. Courses average 2-4 units and run primarily in the fall and spring semesters.
Minimum Qualifications: For studio courses, the MFA degree is required. For theory courses, MFA or advanced Ph.D. candidate (less than one year from completion at time of appointment) in art history/visual culture or relevant field of study is required. University-level teaching experience is required, but this may be waived in unusual circumstances. All applicants must be eligible for employment in the United States.
